Karachi Secondary Education Board Faces Failure in Preventing Cheating During Examinations: Reports indicate that the board administration has been unsuccessful in curbing the rampant practice of cheating, leading to a surge in open cheating incidents during the 9th and 10th-grade exams. On the other hand, the board authorities claim to have apprehended 129 individuals involved in cheating.
According to reports, widespread cheating continued to take place in private schools in Landhi Labour Square and Ban Qasim. Instances of cheating were observed at Sardar Secondary School, F Shah Secondary School, 786 Children Academy Secondary School, Government Boys Secondary School T.S. Number 6 Korangi, Day Acne Academy Korangi, City Grammar School Orangi Town, Noonhale Secondary School Site Town, Aziz Mult High School Orangi Town, Ideal Academy Secondary School, Aqua Educational Academy Secondary School Gulistan-e-Johar, National Grammar School Shadman Town Melaire, Shaheedan Watan Memorial Secondary School Orangi, and Ghazala Secondary School Orangi Town, among others.
Furthermore, during the evening shift, the inspection team, assigned to prevent cheating during the compulsory Islamic Studies paper of the 9th and 10th-grade exams, conducted a raid and apprehended two students from Government Boys Secondary School Orangi Town and Mufaddal Secondary School Shah Faisal.
During the 10th-grade exams of the Science group, Chief Superintendent of Examinations Habibullah Sehag revealed in an interview that reports have been filed regarding the use of mobile phones and cheating by 129 students from various examination centers. He called for appropriate punishment to be imposed on the centers involved in these arrests through the Committee of Inquiry. He mentioned that surprise visits are being conducted to all examination centers in both the morning and evening shifts to ensure the recovery of all examination materials and every possible effort is being made to prevent cheating.
Chairman of the Matriculation Board, Syed Sharif Ali Shah, stated that a thorough assessment of the entire examination process will be conducted once all the exams are completed. The inspection teams and board officials have announced several security measures to curb the practice of cheating in future examinations.
