WhatsApp, a messaging app owned by Meta, is developing a new feature that will enable users to mute calls from unknown numbers.
The toggle will be located in the app settings, and once activated, calls from unknown numbers will always be silenced, though they will still appear in the calls list and notification center.
The feature is intended to help users significantly reduce spam calls, a growing problem in recent years, often associated with scammers and their unsolicited calls.
WhatsApp has been providing the option to block and report these callers, and this new feature will help users avoid receiving such calls by muting them. The feature is currently under development and will be released in a future update of the app.
