Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets in a comfortable win during the Pakistan Super League 8.
In the 25th match of the league played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Quetta Gladiators achieved the target of 241 runs in just 18.2 overs with only 2 wickets down, thanks to Jason Roy’s spectacular knock of 145 runs not out.
Jason Roy from Quetta Gladiators scored a stormy 145 runs not out on 63 balls with the help of 5 fours and 20 sixes. Mohammad Hafeez also remained not out on 41 runs off 18 balls with the help of 2 fours and 6 sixes. While, Will Smeed scored 26 and Martin Guptill scored 21 runs before getting out.
From the side of Peshawar Zalmi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Wahab Riaz took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 240 runs with 2 wickets down in the allotted 20 overs.
Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam scored the first century of PSL by scoring 115 runs while Saim Ayub scored 74 runs before getting out. Rovman Powell scored 35 and Tom Kohler-Cadmore remained not out on 7 runs.
From the side of Quetta Gladiators, Dwaine Pretorius took 1 wicket.
