Facebook has announced the biggest change of the year. About 9 years ago, Facebook introduced a new app called Messenger by removing the chat option from the Facebook mobile app for the same purpose. Now, Meta has officially announced that Messenger will once again become a part of the Facebook mobile app.
In a blog post by Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, he stated that they are testing the access to Messenger within the Facebook app and that you will be part of this test soon. Keep in mind that Facebook was the world’s first social media app to remove the chat option within the app.
At the time, the company’s goal was to create the best mobile messaging app with Messenger. It is not clear why Meta has decided to make Messenger part of the Facebook app again after 9 years, but apparently this change is being made to compete with TikTok.
According to Tom Alison, Facebook is trying to make sharing and chatting the best place for Facebook so that people can share content through messaging within Facebook and not have to open another app.
It is clear that TikTok users can share videos with their friends via direct message. The company did not say when this change will be introduced for all users.
It is needless to say that this is a very important feature for users because it will make it easier for them to communicate and share content with their friends.
