Former president and co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, has criticized the current government led by Imran Khan, accusing him of causing economic turmoil and attempting to sell state-owned entities.
Zardari stated that if Khan remained in power, the country would be ruined, and he would not talk to him under any circumstances. He also asserted that the PPP supports the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) but is not a part of the alliance.
In addition, Zardari attributed the PTI’s recent by-election victory to inflation rather than popularity and stated that the PPP increased salaries for employees and judges during their time in government.
He also rejected speculations of Pakistan’s default, claiming that PPP would come into power again if he took over the economy.
Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of PPP, warned of resigning from the government over unkept promises of providing relief to flood victims in Sindh.
