Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has threatened to resign if the promises made by the Centre regarding the digital census and assistance to flood victims are not fulfilled.
Speaking at an event in Karachi, Bilawal expressed concerns over the government’s failure to deliver on its commitments.
He stressed that it would be difficult for them to retain their ministries if the promises are not kept. Bilawal also raised objections regarding the announcement of the digital census, stating that it was not a solution to the issues at the time of the elections.
He pointed out that the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were being held based on the old census, and the Sindh government would not support such a census if the objections of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah were not addressed.
Bilawal emphasized that a province’s rights are determined based on the census and called for the Centre to fulfill its promises regarding the digital census and assistance to flood victims.
